About the role

  • The Adjunct role provides instruction and monitors teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department Chair, or other leadership members.
  • Participates in the identification of students with academic or other needs and responds by utilizing an appropriate resource.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a closely related field
  • OR Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of two years of documented, relevant professional experience in database development, database administration, or software development.
  • The adjunct must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask while engaging large groups of people with complicated material.

Nice to have

  • Prior teaching experience at the college or university level, preferably within a community college setting.
  • Demonstrated experience working with relational database management systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Practical experience with SQL query development, database design, and normalization techniques.
  • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Compensation

  • $56.88 per contact hour
  • Contact Hour: Two hours equals one contact hour
  • Hours: Maximum of 12 contact hours per week
