Responsibilities
- As a Traffic Engineer in the Traffic Engineering Branch, you will lead the planning, design, analysis, and review of a variety of traffic engineering projects.
- You will apply advanced technical expertise to improve traffic flow, enhance roadway safety, and support data-driven design decisions across Maricopa County's transportation network.
- In this role, you will prepare and review complex traffic engineering studies and designs, such as traffic signal layouts, intersection improvements, signing and pavement marking plans, and safety enhancement projects.
- You will also provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and consultants, while coordinating with internal and external partners to deliver projects aligned with MCDOT's goals.
Requirements
- Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive
Compensation
- $90,000 - $133,750 annually
- Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.
- The position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

- Two years of civil engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field

- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, or by the technical board of another state, with the ability to obtain Arizona registration within six months of employment

- Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona Driver's license by the time of hire
