About the role
- Train in preparing histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists.
- Work is performed in accordance with standard laboratory practice under limited supervision.

Requirements
- All SOPs must be followed
- Any discrepancies, errors and/or deviation from the SOPs or Policies must be reported to the Lab Director, Lab Manager, Admin Lead and/or Section Lead
- Laboratory Standards for Clinical testing must be maintained
- Full-time employees are required to apply for and take the ASCP HT/HTL certification exam within six months after one-year work anniversary

- About the position: Train in preparing histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists.
- Clinical duties include the responsibility of becoming proficient in day-to-day operations of Lab Services; specifically:
- Assessing tissue adequacy for testing
- Performing quality control checks on materials produced
- Completing equipment maintenance and logs
- Determining causes of operating errors and deciding corrective course of action
- Controlling operations of equipment and systems
- Monitoring and assessing performance of self to make improvements or take corrective action
- Assisting in Lab for other duties as assigned
- Practicing safe work procedures while performing job duties
- Periodically review of work product for compliance with standard operating procedures and applicable workload limits
- Administrative Duties
- Assisting in Accessioning
- Maintenance of Lab logs and tracking sheets
