Responsibilities
- Perform daily and weekly Quality Control tests on radiologist's workstations, mammography machine, and Stereotactic equipment
- Place supply orders for procedures and maintain an adequate PAR level
- Review orders prior to day of procedure to ensure accuracy and to avoid delay in patient care, and maintain, generate, and keep organized documentation for all upcoming biopsies and localizations.
- Must maintain accuracy in breast positioning, exposure techniques, and image evaluation while adhering to radiation protection and safety standards.
Requirements
- Enter an order for Breast Ultrasound when required by the Radiologist and communicate with the sonographers
- Associate's Degree from a Radiologic Technology program Required
- Gather all required documentation for the procedure including consent, outside reports and images, and uploading outside images to PACS
- Mammography - American Registry Radiologic Technologist or registry eligible (If eligible, must become ARRT(M) certified within 24 months of hire or transfer date) Required
- Radiography - South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Required
- Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association within 30 Days Required
- Ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure by positioning and instructing patient while utilizing protective shielding, immobilization, and supportive devices as required
- Perform and complete procedures as required by physician's order in hospital information system.
- Must have knowledge of the quality assurance policies and quality control testing for mammography within federal regulation guidelines.
