Responsibilities

  • Perform daily and weekly Quality Control tests on radiologist's workstations, mammography machine, and Stereotactic equipment
  • Place supply orders for procedures and maintain an adequate PAR level
  • Review orders prior to day of procedure to ensure accuracy and to avoid delay in patient care, and maintain, generate, and keep organized documentation for all upcoming biopsies and localizations.
  • Must maintain accuracy in breast positioning, exposure techniques, and image evaluation while adhering to radiation protection and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Enter an order for Breast Ultrasound when required by the Radiologist and communicate with the sonographers
  • Associate's Degree from a Radiologic Technology program Required
  • Gather all required documentation for the procedure including consent, outside reports and images, and uploading outside images to PACS
  • Mammography - American Registry Radiologic Technologist or registry eligible (If eligible, must become ARRT(M) certified within 24 months of hire or transfer date) Required
  • Radiography - South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Required
  • Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association within 30 Days Required
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure by positioning and instructing patient while utilizing protective shielding, immobilization, and supportive devices as required
  • Perform and complete procedures as required by physician's order in hospital information system.
  • Must have knowledge of the quality assurance policies and quality control testing for mammography within federal regulation guidelines.
