About the role
- Ensures operational efficiency and technical excellence for the Custom Credit Advisor.
- Understand each function and ensure the proper processes, practices and policies within and among them to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Ensure appropriate resource allocation to meet the needs of the business.
Responsibilities
- Manage three distinct functions supporting Private Banking activities, including client-facing support for the Custom Credit Advisors and Associates, SBL (Securities-Based Lending) Specialists and Portfolio management.
- Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis.
- Promote an environment that supports a culture of belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- This position manages the operational infrastructure that supports the Custom Credit team, ensuring the team provides the highest level of operational efficiency to ultimately enhance the client experience and create efficiency for internal partners.
- This position needs deep expertise in three distinct functions, support of Custom Credit Advisors, SBL administration and Portfolio Management, to ensure efficiencies across the functions and resolve issues.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 years' managerial, supervisory, and/or work leadership experience
- Deep knowledge of structuring and advising on custom credit
- Experience prioritizing and balancing competing needs
- monitor supporting policies, procedures, and practices to ensure any gaps are identified and required improvements are implemented.
- Understand portfolio metrics and compliance needs and make recommendations for process improvements as required.
- Experience with pertinent internal systems

Compensation
- M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees.
- The pay range for this position is $142,100.00 - $236,800.00 Annual (USD).
- The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
- Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
