About the role
- This position is responsible for ensuring all critical business aspects related to the assigned team while clearly communicating information to plant leadership.
- This role ensures production of a quality product, processing in accordance with mandated regulations, current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP) and established company procedures.
- Ability to operate forklifts and non-motorized pallet jacks as needed. - Ability to assist in other work related areas as requested.
Responsibilities
- Drive root cause problem solving to address vendor, supplier, and customer issues concerning quality and delivery.
- Manage all aspects of assigned work area including but not limited to projects, coordinating production workflow, troubleshooting production processes, costs, scheduling, shipping, receiving, and quality.
Requirements
- Ability to operate and train personnel on equipment and machinery used in the processing of product.
- Ability to monitor the production processes, anticipate production concerns and make effective decisions while striving for continuity of the production process.
- Ability to work daily and overtime as necessary.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods.
- Knowledge and ability to analyze, forecast, and plan production objectives.
- General knowledge of OSHA standards and safe work practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with Essentia Proteins personnel, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and other business related contacts.
- Ability to adhere to USDA, OSHA, and other regulatory and compliance recordkeeping requirements.

Nice to have
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- College degree in industrial technology, business, management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum three years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Experience in a food processing environment strongly preferred.
