  • The technologist educates the patient/family about the procedure as well as provides pre and post procedure instructions.
  • Alerts Supervisor and/or appropriate staff of potential problems or equipment malfunctions.

Responsibilities

  • Primary Duties And Responsibilities The Mammography Technologist performs routine screening and diagnostic mammography examinations to obtain high quality radiographs.
  • The technologist takes measures to provide and care for the patient's safety and properly utilizes procedure related patient care/support devices appropriate for the age of the patient.
  • Maintains a relaxed environment to calm anxious patients.
  • Additionally, performs special procedures including stereotactic core biopsies, ultrasound guided core biopsies, needle localizations and ductograms.
