About the role
- The Utility Technician will work closely with senior and experienced personnel to learn proper procedures, safety practices, and the day-to-day operations of our natural gas pipeline assets.
- The Pipeline Utility Position Program aims to provide employees with targeted training and hands-on experience to advance through a career path that prepares them for various roles in pipeline operations.
- Employees will gain exposure to specialized roles, including Damage Prevention Technician, Pipeline Technician, Turbine Technician, Measurement Technician, Corrosion Technician, and I/E Technician.
Responsibilities
- Performs or assists with a variety of Mechanical Maintenance and Repair duties.
- Support in basic facility upkeep tasks, such as cleaning, organizing tools, and preparing work areas.
- Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
- This Utility Technician will provide support across various operations while gaining hands-on experience in pipeline operation and maintenance tasks.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite tools.
- Work overtime, nights, weekends, holidays, and varied shifts when required.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Observe and follow all company safety rules and procedures, and wear required protective equipment.
- Performs and accurately documents regulatory required inspections.
Nice to have
- Associates degree in a technical field and/or at least 3 years equivalent work, preferred.
- Work experience in plant or pipeline operations, mechanical maintenance, I&E, or natural gas measurement, preferred.
