Responsibilities
- You will lead through influence, operating as a key strategic counterpart to leaders who rely on you to bring clarity and accountability to how we measure and drive performance.
- The ideal candidate will lead sophisticated, independent analyses and own executive-facing narratives that clarify performance and guide prioritization across the organization.
- By connecting dots across the company and collaborating deeply with Analytics, you will build Etsy's strategic direction and ensure all initiatives are measured against impactful North Star metrics.
- The Strategic Finance team partners closely with leaders across Etsy to help shape company strategy, evaluate investments, and drive sustainable growth.
- As a trusted thought partner to Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Executive Leadership, the team combines rigorous financial analysis with deep business insight to inform decision-making at every level.
- We thrive on solving complex problems, bringing clarity to ambiguity, and helping the organization focus on the opportunities that will create the greatest impact for Etsy's buyers, sellers, and marketplace.
- Own the complete financial and strategic narrative for product progress and performance measurement at Etsy
- Partner with Analytics and Product to develop business cases, track performance against goals, and synthesize data into executive-facing views that advise decisions
- Lead analyses to uncover performance gaps and adoption trends, translating findings into prioritized recommendations for product leadership
- Serve as the critical strategic advisor business partners, helping them evaluate trade-offs and scope initiatives
Requirements
- Experience with product experimentation (A/B testing, persistent experiments) and causal measurement approaches
- 8+ years of experience in product finance, strategic finance, strategy & operations, FP&A, management consulting, or a similar analytical role-with meaningful time spent at a technology or marketplace company
Skills
- Experience with enterprise planning tools (Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, Planful) and/or data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, Looker)
- Experience using AI to move beyond manual work by implementing automated solutions where appropriate

Compensation
- $144,000.00 - $186,000.00
- In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
- Own the financial planning cycle for your area including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, long-range plans, and monthly P&L reporting
