About the role

Position Overview Keep our communities fed.
Our focus is simple but meaningful - from our distribution centers to our offices, every employee of C&S and our family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities.
This role will serve as one of the Company's labor law experts, answering questions from the field organization regarding the interpretation of CBAs, state and federal labor laws, and related matters on a daily basis.

This role is expected to operate with limited oversight, demonstrating an excellent understanding of the Company's business and the ability to align legal advice with Company strategy.
Ensuring compliance with state and federal labor laws, including advising Company stakeholders on required changes and overseeing implementation of those changes.
J.D. degree and active license to practice law.
7-10 years of experience in labor and employment law, preferably in both in-house and law firm settings.
Ability to analyze complex business processes and data and apply legal requirements in fact-driven settings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of primary federal labor and employment laws, including the NLRA, Title VII, FMLA, WARN Act, ADEA, and related laws.
Excellent writing skills and the ability to understand and prepare materials appropriate for a professional business environment in English.
Ability and desire to quickly learn new areas of the law and the business, with a willingness to take on increasing responsibility as proficiency is demonstrated.
Ability to make timely decisions that may have a significant impact on the business while working under tight deadlines.
