About the role
- Project assignments typically span the unit life cycle, from internal trades, concept studies and system definition, to satellite unit development and test.
- The specific programs and options available to any given employee may vary depending on eligibility factors such as geographic location, date of hire, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
- Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop next generation RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems.
- Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures.
- Develop performance and link budgets.
- Develop prototype demonstrations on flight-like communication subsystem testbeds.
- Support unit-level integration and performance simulations.
- Support ASIC and FPGA level system design and verification.
- Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-offs.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
- To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
- An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or similar degree in signal processing or algorithm development focus
- Master's degree in or similar degree in signal processing or algorithm development focus
- Development of algorithms for hardware implementation on ASICs or FPGAs
- Digital Signal Processing based classes, projects or work experience
- Simulink experience in work or school.
- Python, C++, or other languages acceptable
- Substantive involvement and/or leadership in group-oriented project work
- Verification planning and principles, while applying their theoretical knowledge in resolving real world problems
Compensation
- $98,600 - $133,400
- $ 119,850 - $162,150
