About the role

  • The SESS Team will service children through the Child Search Office and in non-public school settings.
  • Direct Reports This position does not have direct reports.
  • Functions as evaluation coordinator for designated referred students;

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation & Support Services team in providing feedback on best practices in the student assistance team process;
  • Provides a written report of any academic/behavioral support services provided to clients;
  • Evaluates as a Student Evaluation & Support Services member and in accordance with Bulletin 1508, the Pupil

  • Must possess basic computer skills and demonstrate the ability to use various types of software programs.

Benefits

  • Implements and/or assists teachers and other school personnel in the design and implementation of educational and behavioral interventions for support services to clients;
  • Participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) staffing and service plan meetings, when appropriate.
  • Master's degree in Education, at least one year of experience in the certified special education area, as authorized by the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education;
  • Minimum of three years of experience as an Educational Diagnostician or comparable special education experience required; and
  • Valid Louisiana Type A, B, or Level 2 or 3 teaching certified for generic special education.
  • To serve as a member of the Student Evaluation and Support Services (SESS) Team in a program offering psychological, social, sensory, and educational services to children ages 3-22.
