About the role
- The R&D Lab Technician plays a critical role in validating the performance, reliability, and safety of data center cooling equipment.
- This position is responsible for hands-on setup, wiring, instrumentation, and execution of lab testing for both customer validation and new product development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans in collaboration with engineering teams
- Collect and document test data
- Maintain and calibrate sensors and lab instrumentation
- Support continuous improvement of lab processes, standards, and capabilities
- Company-sponsored social events and team-building activities
Requirements
- Associate's degree in electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on technical experience in a lab, manufacturing, or field service environment (adjust based on level)
- Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hand and power tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Nice to have
- Experience with HVAC, refrigeration systems, or air handling equipment
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and sensors
- Brazing/soldering of copper tubing
- Experience working in an R&D or test lab environment
- Basic carpentry or fabrication skills
- Additional Information:
- Occasional travel may be required
- This role involves hands-on work in a lab environment around large mechanical and electrical systems
