About the role

Requirements
- We have extensive in-house laboratory and rapid prototyping capability including CNCs, 3D printers, waterjet and laser cutters, which help facilitate our ability to prototype and innovate fast.
Nice to have
- A player-coach who is passionate about teaching product development to less experienced engineers.
- A product development engineer who enjoys the fast paced environment of consulting and is experienced with complex technical projects.
- An exceptional listener and communicator able to interpret client needs and represent sound development methodology.
- A life-long learner who can jump into an unfamiliar field, identify core issues and quickly contribute to solutions.
- S. in mechanical engineering or related field
- Broad technical background and a desire to learn more
- Experience in consulting
- Experience leading technical teams and mentorship/coaching

- Experience designing biomedical or automation products a plus
- What you'll get to do
- We're hiring a mechanical engineering team leader who is excited about product development and coaching the next generation of engineers.
- In this role you will support and mentor product development teams to advance new technologies and bring new products to market.
- You will be the backstop for project teams, keeping up with the day to day design work and providing support on the toughest technical problems your teams face.
- You will coach on softer skills like project management, writing project proposals and statements of work, and budget reviews.
- As a team leader you will support 3-15 engineers, depending on team sizes, project scope and complexity.
