About the role
- Source, purchase, and track construction materials including concrete, rebar, conduit, cabling, structural steel, piping, and fasteners • Establish vendor relationships and negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and bulk purchasing agreements • Maintain procurement logs, material trackers, and purchase orders for ongoing projects • Work closely with site managers, engineers, and superintendents to forecast and fulfill material needs • Verify material deliveries, inspect for quality, and coordinate returns or replacements as necessary • Ensure all purchases align with project budgets and schedules • Manage on-site inventory and coordinate storage and staging plans • Monitor market trends and lead times to optimize procurement strategies • Prepare procurement reports and participate in progress meetings as needed Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management in construction or industrial environments • Strong knowledge of construction materials and equipment for civil, electrical, and structural scopes • Proficiency with procurement software, spreadsheets, and document control (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Excel) • Excellent negotiation, organization, and communication skills • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and solve problems under tight timelines • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for vendor visits or site deliveries Preferred Experience • Experience in energy, utility, or infrastructure project environments • Familiarity with Texas-based suppliers, DOT materials, and jobsite delivery coordination • Working knowledge of construction drawings and specifications • Background in inventory control, ERP systems, or construction logistics planning Benefits • Health, dental, and vision insurance • 401(k) with company match • Opportunities for advancement in a growing organization
