About the role

  • This position operates within an Indigenous-led and Indigenous-governed organization that is accountable to the communities it serves.
  • Work is grounded in the principle of Indigenous Health in Indigenous Hands, ensuring that all programs and services are developed, delivered, and evaluated under Indigenous governance structures and community direction.
  • This position is being posted in response to an existing vacancy at the Barrie Area Native Advisory Circle.

Requirements

  • Strong applied knowledge of EMR/EHR systems
  • experience with Telus PS Suite is considered an asset
  • Experience with SQL-based query development and reporting tools (e.g., LogiReports, BIRT)
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, and Office 365
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and resolve data quality issues
  • Ability to present and communicate data clearly to diverse audiences
  • Regular travel to meetings and communities is required; access to a personal vehicle is required.
  • Reliable Vehicle - Regional Travel Required.
  • Regular overtime work may be required from time to time.
  • Degree in Health Informatics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3-5 years' experience in a healthcare or data-focused role, including experience working with EMR systems and report development
  • Experience with digital health tools (e.g., Ocean platform, eReferral, AI Scribe) is considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data privacy and governance (e.g., PHIPA, FIPPA)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience in Indigenous health, community-based settings, or applying culturally grounded approaches to data is considered a strong asset
