About the role
- As an Engineering Technician, you will support the analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of Johnson Controls BAS products and related test equipment.
- You will work with supervision or engineering guidance, help document daily work activities, maintain laboratory equipment, and collaborate closely with engineering teams to resolve complex product issues and improve product performance.
Responsibilities
- Document daily work activities and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Maintain laboratory equipment in safe, proper working condition.
- Work directly with engineering teams on complex product issues and provide clear status updates to your supervisor and lead technician.
- Provide analysis on Johnson Controls products to original design and manufacturing engineers.
- Support corporate and plant engineering teams by sharing feedback that helps improve current and future products.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and proper working condition.
- Work with outside vendors to obtain information, parts, or equipment and help implement corrective action.
- Provide technical product support to field teams, end users, and internal service providers requiring complex troubleshooting.
- You will own assigned work with accountability, safety, and integrity, keeping your team informed when issues or risks arise.
- You will stay close to the work by using hands-on troubleshooting, schematics, and test results to solve problems efficiently and remove obstacles for customers and engineering partners.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical field, or an Associate's Degree in a relevant area.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision at the start of a new assignment and with very little supervision thereafter.
- Ability to solder.
- Ability to use the tools and materials required for hardware, software, and manufacturing work.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and manufacturing schematics.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

- HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $25.19 - 34.61 Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
