About the role
- This position can be filled as an Advanced Analytics Modeler I or Advanced Analytics Modeler II based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities
- Build comprehensive analytics solutions to improve business outcomes such as pricing accuracy, resource efficiencies, business workflows, and identification of trends and opportunities.
- Identify data sources and build raw data queries in Snowflake, SQL, or Python.
- Construct processes in Python to run raw data queries, perform data transformation, execute predictor and target variable calculations, and assemble final predictive modeling datasets.
- Apply data science tools and various statistical techniques such as regression, generalized linear models, gradient boosting and neural networks to build, validate, and implement models for solving business problems.
- Create data visualizations in Tableau to communicate model performance, variable importance, impacts, and other tools to assist end users in understanding and using the analytics solutions most effectively.
- Collaborate with modelers, actuaries, and data analysts in Advanced Analytics to review and share diverse ideas to improve analytics solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels.
Nice to have
- Degree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field.
- Master's degree, a relevant postgraduate certificate or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience preferred.
- Experience in the insurance industry preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in statistical software tools, Python is preferred.

- This position will be located at our Office in Stevens Point, WI in a hybrid work model and is not a fully remote opportunity.
