About the role

  • Apera AI is seeking a Roboticist (Co-op) for the 8 months term period (Sep 2026 - April 2027).
  • Your focus will be on integrating mechanical engineering and mechatronics into robotics projects.
  • This role combines development, testing, and implementation of robotic systems that interact with the physical world in complex environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lab Testing - Build, assemble, and test mechanical components and robotic systems
  • New Technology Development - Support R&D in mechatronics, automation, and robotics
  • Documentation - Maintain detailed records of designs, experiments, and procedures
  • Lab Testing - Build, assemble, and test mechanical components and robotic systems; ensure performance and reliability standards are met.
  • New Technology Development - Support R&D in mechatronics, automation, and robotics; integrate new hardware solutions into robotic systems.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Strong mechanical design skills, including proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
