About the role

  • PPLM seeks a strategic, politically experienced leader to serve as Vice President of Public Affairs and concurrently as Executive Director of the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts (PPAF), our affiliated 501(c)(4).
  • The role requires deep political judgment, strong relationships within the Massachusetts State House, and proven experience navigating complex policy and electoral environments.
  • Advise the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on political risk and opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi‑year political and legislative strategies aligned with state and national SRHR priorities.
  • Partner with the PPAF Board President; serve as primary liaison to the Board.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key State House stakeholders.
  • Lead the endorsement process, candidate vetting, and political assessments.
  • Design and execute c4‑appropriate electoral strategies.
  • Build long‑term candidate pipelines and coordinate with national partners.
  • Develop and implement a c4 fundraising strategy.

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years senior-level leadership in political strategy, public policy, campaigns, or advocacy.
  • Demonstrated experience with 501(c)(4) or campaign operations.
  • Proven success in endorsements, electoral strategy, and political fundraising.
  • Oversee lobbying activities and required reporting.
  • Established credibility within the Massachusetts political landscape.
  • Deep understanding of c3/c4 compliance and campaign finance law.
  • Strong strategic judgment, communication skills, and executive presence.
  • Commitment to reproductive freedom, health equity, and justice.

  • $175k-$200k
