Responsibilities

  • Provide advisement and ongoing support to 10-20 students throughout their internship to help ensure successful participation and skill development.
  • Maintain and update databases, student participation records, and employer contact information.
  • Support the planning and execution of workshops, matching fairs, employer information sessions, and related events.
  • Prepare communications, promotional materials, and reports to support program outreach and assessment.
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling, data entry, and correspondence.
  • Provide overall support to the Center for Career and Professional Development office.
  • RFCUNY serves as a fiscal agent and works closely with all the CUNY campus Grants Offices to perform the core functions of post-award financial management for CUNY research projects and sponsored programs.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, student-focused environment.
  • Prior experience in higher education, career services, workforce development, or administrative support is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to supporting a diverse community of students and employers.

Nice to have

  • Associate's degree required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and database systems
  • experience with career services platforms is a plus.

Compensation

  • $20.00 an hour

  • Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and employers regarding experiential learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with staff, faculty, and external partners to enhance student access to work-based learning opportunities.
  • The Part-Time Program Assistant supports the Center for Career & Professional Development in advancing student participation in internships, experiential learning, and career readiness opportunities.
  • This position works closely with the Work-Based Learning Specialist to provide direct support to students, coordinate program activities, and ensure efficient program operations.
