About the role

  • JOB LOCATION - Wilkes-Barre General Hospital JOB SHIFT - Per Diem POSITION PURPOSE Student technologists must demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
  • Student technologists prepare for and assist the Radiologist in the completion of radiographic examinations.
  • They prepare and administer contrast media under the supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist.

Responsibilities

  • He or she must maintain knowledge about radiation protection and safety.
  • Student technologists are the primary liaison between patients and Radiologists and other members of the support team.

Requirements

  • Student technologists must maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique up to their level of competency.
  • Completion of one year of clinical experience in Radiology Department and 50% or better completion of required clinical/procedural competencies.
  • Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes Completion of one year of clinical experience in Radiology Department and 50% or better completion of required clinical/procedural competencies.
  • Licenses/Certificates Student in an accredited program in Radiology Technology either hospital based or college degree program.
