About the role
- This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys both technical accounting and leveraging technology to improve finance operations.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain formal accounting policies and procedures.
- Support revenue recognition, lease accounting, inventory valuation, and other technical accounting matters.
- Maintain strong internal controls and accounting documentation.
- Partner with internal technology teams to improve accounting systems and reporting.
- Support integrations between financial systems and operational platforms.
- Act as the Controller's second-in-command and trusted business partner.
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Experience supporting external audits.
Nice to have
- CPA certification or active CPA candidate.
- Experience with high-growth startup or technology companies.
- Automotive, dealership, retail, or inventory accounting experience.
- Experience using ERP or accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms.
- Experience with SQL, Python, data automation, or reporting tools.
- Familiarity with Git, APIs, or AI-assisted workflow tools is a plus.

Compensation
- $165,000 - $200,000 annually, depending on experience
