Requirements

- Maintain current required training certifications during your tenure.
- High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
- Must have current Red Cross Lifeguard/First aid, and CPR/AED certification.
- Demonstrate ability to take direction from the head guard(s).

- This position is available only to enrolled American University students.
- Most student positions at American University are eligible to use Federal Work Study (FWS) awards, with a few exceptions.

Compensation
- $18.40 per hour - Regular Lifeguard position.
- $25.00 per hour - Special Event Lifeguard.
