About the role
- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking applications for a Business Manager for the College of Business, Industry, Life Science & Agriculture (BILSA).
- The Business Manager oversees college-level business operations, including budget administration, financial management, procurement, human resources processes, reporting, and committee coordination.
- By identifying operational needs and implementing process improvements, this position promotes efficient and effective business operations while ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily administrative and operational functions of the College of BILSA Dean's Office, ensuring effective coordination of services that support college programs, initiatives, and priorities.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate operational procedures and workflows; identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to enhance effectiveness and compliance.
- Support human resources and staffing processes for the college, including recruitment coordination, onboarding activities, and adherence to HR policies and procedures.
- Supervise student employees, including hiring support, training, scheduling, task assignment, performance oversight, and approval of hours worked.
- Identify resource needs across office functions and assist in allocating support to ensure efficient operations across multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Serve as a liaison between the Dean's Office and internal/external partners to facilitate communication, resolve issues, and support cross-functional coordination.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of college programs and operational needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or related field.
- Experience with budget management, financial systems, or fund accounting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Prepare and maintain financial, staffing, and operational reports to support leadership decision-making and required internal or external reporting.
Compensation
- This is a full-time, 12-month, benefit and paid leave eligible position with a salary of $60,000 per year.
