About the role
- Write, compile, and review geotechnical reports and proposals for major projects.
- Prepare and present technical papers and contribute to advancement of earth science in our area of technical specialization.
- Resolve claims with respect to deferring ground conditions:
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering from CEAB-accredited institution
- +10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical, geological and geotechnical earthquake engineering
- and travel within Canada when required.
Nice to have
- Ph.D. degree in Geotechnical Engineering from CEAB-accredited institution.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering on complex multidisciplinary project.
- Expert user of software including FLAC, PLAXIS, Pro Shake, RSPMatch EDT, GeoStudio and Seismic Hazard Analysis Software such as EZ-FRISK.
- Experience in client service and business development.
- Strong understanding of finite element theory for soil and rock including knowledge of advanced geotechnics as it relates to real soil behavior.
- Knowledge of elastic, elastoplastic and advanced constitutive models for linear and nonlinear materials.
- Advanced knowledge of models associated with seepage and consolidation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
