Responsibilities

  • The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.
  • Autonomously perform routine to moderate levels of design solution development, layout maturation, and spatial integration using 3D modeling software.
  • Review, evaluate, and secure engineering compliance documents from suppliers to support airworthiness approval.
  • This includes checking Certification Plans, Test Plans, Test Reports, and Declarations of Design and Performance (DDP) for technical accuracy and alignment with program requirements.
  • Provide real-time engineering support and troubleshooting for routine to moderate physical and systems integration issues discovered on the shop floor or at the Final Assembly Line (FAL).
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to resolve installation non-conformances.

  • Working under general direction at an intermediate to advanced professional level, the engineer autonomously performs routine to moderate levels of engineering design, analysis, and data integration from initial conceptual phase to final product installation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 6 years of experience in design, analysis, and systems/structural integration of cabin interiors, monuments, furnishings, or payload installation projects.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to understand and mentor principles within assigned discipline.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical aircraft topics.
  • Working knowledge of cabin interior product development.
