About the role
- The Operator I is responsible to safely and efficiently assist in packaging quality products in a manner that is consistent with HP Hood LLC standards.
- The Operator I will be proficient /qualified as a Filler Operator and/or Line Leader.
- Daily operation of multiple high-speed filling and packaging machines in a production setting to include the startup, shutdown, and sanitation of all related equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Responsibilities
- Perform all tasks and functions related to operating and cleaning filling and packaging equipment.
- Submit work orders and maintain equipment.
- Maintain communication with team members, cross functional partners, and other crews.
- Reports all safety concerns/incidents promptly to a Supervisor, Lead or Manager.
Requirements
- May be required to assist in facilitation of training for new or existing operators in the qualification process.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment with minimal supervision.
Nice to have
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with manufacturing equipment preferred.

- Ability to multi-task.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Responsible for reporting to work on time when scheduled.
- Able to deal with change, delays or unexpected events.
- Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance and crouch for long periods of time (>10 hours)
- Physically able to handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Physically able to move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to lift greater than 50 pounds occasionally.
- Basic math and computer skills.
