About the role

Responsibilities

  • The Agroecology Lab at the University of Maryland invites applications for a Post-doctoral Associate to work on the Options to Adapting to Rising Seas (OARS) project, which is focused on developing a decision support tool for woodlot owners in Maryland who are experiencing coastal stressors like saltwater intrusion and sea level rise.

Requirements

  • Financial Disclosure Required
  • Ph.D. in quantitative social science, resource economics, geography, environmental science, or a related field with a strong emphasis on science-informed decision support.

Nice to have

  • The selected candidate should have experience with working with geospatial databases and web-based tool development are strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of forest ecosystems and their management.
  • They should have experience with coastal dynamics and climate change.
  • The candidate should be highly organized, have excellent communication skills, the ability to work with diverse groups and quantitative data analysis skills.

Compensation

  • $50,299.72 - $60,000
