About the role

Responsibilities
- Performs regular sweeps of the library to ensure a clean and tidy work environment (Study rooms, whiteboards, markers, supplies, furniture, library materials etc.).
- Engages in independent decision making that supports department priorities.
- Ability to quickly build rapport with students.
Requirements
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse users, colleagues, and faculty.
- Customer service focus with an ability to de-escalate difficult situations.

- Newly hired faculty must assure that their official transcript is sent by the degree granting institution(s) to Western Nevada College, Human Resources Office within 30 calendar days from the effective date of employment.
- Academic degrees must have been awarded by regionally accredited institutions.
Nice to have
- Fluency in Spanish is a strength.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets patrons as they enter the library and takes actions to ensure a positive and welcoming environment.
- Ensures a safe and healthy environment in accordance with library policies and procedures.
- Checks students into and out of the library.
- Assists patrons with basic circulation functions.
- Issues library cards.
- Takes requests for inter-library loans.
