Responsibilities
- Leverage advanced analytical and technical skills to design and implement infrastructure solutions that enhance mission execution and support command decision-making.
- Support the integration of new technologies and equipment within lab environments, including the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.
- Provide user support for Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), such as Citrix, as well as macOS and iOS platforms.
- Implement granular access controls, monitor system performance and accessibility, establish and maintain backup protocols, and ensure system security.
- Diagnose and resolve complex enterprise storage issues across local and wide area networks, including replication strategy support and remediation of storage-related incidents.
- Design, build, and maintain robust network environments by configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as updating network devices and performing IP address audits to ensure optimal network performance.
- Ensure optimal network performance by troubleshooting issues, enforcing system standards, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize infrastructure.
Requirements
- BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, or related degree
- or HS Diploma and 7+ years of network administration, network engineering, or systems administration experience.
- 5+ years of directly relevant experience in network administration
- Proficiency with multiple operating systems, including Linux/Unix and macOS
- Strong knowledge and experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
- Experience and knowledge of networking and network administration
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco switches
- Experience with converged infrastructure solutions (e.g., FlexPod) and NetApp storage systems
- Proficiency with Cisco Intersight, vCenter, and virtualization automation/optimization
- Strong documentation skills for technical procedures and SOPs
- Capable of creating and maintaining network diagrams
- Project management capabilities and excellent time-management skills
- Expertise in hardening network devices and infrastructure for enhanced security
- Desired Certifications: DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II, Network+, CCNA
