About the role

  • This role will be responsible for overseeing the installation of metering systems for buildings on U.S. military and other federal government sites.
  • Future project sites will be U.S. military or other federal government project sites that are to be determined and could be anywhere in the United States, and potentially some global sites (but no designated war zone countries).
  • All travel related expenses and local housing is provided (if not already local to the area).

Responsibilities

  • At Johnson Controls, we support our nation's most critical facilities, the people who occupy them, and the missions they enable.
  • Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is a specialized team serving as a trusted partner to the federal government.
  • This role supports long-term assignments.
  • Supervises, inspects, reviews, records and reports on all site construction related activity ensuring that the assigned subcontractors perform their work on schedule.
  • Understand and develop means and methods for the construction/installation requirements of the particular project (in conjunction with Project Manager).

Requirements

  • Project coordination and supervision experience with construction projects in the commercial and/or industrial building construction industry.
  • Experience overseeing electrical trades teams in the construction industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and/or engineering drawings
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and basic Windows environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain military base accesses required for assigned projects (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)
  • Ability to travel up to 90%
  • The first project site that this role will support is the Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX for around one year (military experience is not required).

  • Experience working with project scope of $1 million or larger
  • Associate Degree or Technical Schooling in electrical or electronic systems, or equivalent work experience

Compensation

  • $90,000 - $110,000 base salary plus per diem when traveling.

Benefits

  • Eligible for benefits on first day of employment Vacation: 3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays per calendar year. (6.5 weeks of paid time off in total throughout the year)
