About the role

  • The Rail Scheduler is primarily responsible for coordinating the movement of rail cars in and out of MPC refineries/terminals for the purpose of loading/unloading products or feedstocks.
  • This position is the interface between the refineries/terminals to third party railroads and MPC stakeholders in Refining, Marketing and Rail Operations to ensure rail cars are scheduled as needed by the refineries/terminals.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and maintain DOT (Department of Transportation) Hazardous Shipment Certification.
  • Provides rail freight rate estimates and railroad tariff information to internal business partners.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent and five (5) years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Two (2) years of related experience required.
