About the role
- The Strategic Planner applies deep knowledge of ERCOT's regulatory environment, business strategy, and operational landscape to anticipate internal and external challenges, formulate contingency plans, and recommend actionable solutions.
- This position coordinates cross-departmental efforts, defines scope and deliverables for strategic programs, and plans and executes market initiatives in response to PUCT directives and ISO business development strategies.
Responsibilities
- Works with executive and management leaders to develop ERCOT's strategic plan, identifying priority issues and key objectives to be addressed in the strategic plan timeframe.
- Works with management to identify and track status of strategic initiatives identified to support strategy outcomes.
- Maintains, supports, and trains others on ERCOT's Strategy and Work Management tool. Ensures the accuracy of strategy and goal data housed within the tool. Develops and delivers reports and dashboards for use by ERCOT leadership.
- Supports preparation of Board-level strategy materials and coordinates cross-functional input for executive and Board meeting cycles.
- Develops complex strategic roadmaps and project plans specifying goals, strategy, cross-departmental coordination, schedules, risks, and contingency plans
- Manages emerging concepts into proof-of-concept processes and project process
- Applies deep understanding of ERCOT's business environment, strategy, and regulatory landscape to support ERCOT enterprise initiatives
- Analyzes plans to provide operational strategic support to business operations
- Formulates and defines scope, objectives, schedule, and deliverables for coordinated efforts in support of strategic programs
Requirements
- Requires minimum 5 years job years job related experience in excess of degree requirements
- Prefer experience in the power industry
- Prefer experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning, performance management, or enterprise goal-setting
- Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering, Finance, Computer Science, MIS, Business, Public Policy or related field (Required)

Compensation
- $102,000 - $140,000
- Leads working sessions with executives to develop draft annual company goals (objective and key results goals, short-term incentive goals, long-term incentive goals) on an annual basis for approval by the ERCOT Board.
