About the role

  • We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Underwriter to join our Energy Casualty team.
  • The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding Starr Insurance's reach throughout the Southeast, with a specific emphasis on Southeast producers.
  • This role requires a deep understanding of casualty lines of coverage and a strong background in energy underwriting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a profitable Energy Casualty portfolio, focusing on strategic growth and market penetration.
  • Cultivate relationships with key Southeast producers to drive new business opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships.
  • Monitor and manage the new business pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups and conversions.
  • Provide exceptional service and support to clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in underwriting software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience underwriting casualty lines of coverage, including Worker's Compensation, General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Excess Liability.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and develop tailored solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and brokers.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
