About the role
- The Linux Systems Engineer provides technical expertise related to implementation, management, and security of Linux infrastructure across the Belk enterprise.
- This role is responsible for ensuring projects are implemented according to the plans of the Architecture team.
- Validating with expertise that strong authentication, access control, and threat mitigation strategies are in place to protect retail operations, corporate environments, customer-facing applications and cloud environments.
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience administering and supporting Linux systems in enterprise environments.
- Experience with shell scripting including ssh and sudo.
- Knowledge of enterprise security practices including certificate management, security hardening, vulnerability remediation etc.
- Advanced knowledge of clustering services, load balancing, and replication.
- Experience on IBM AIX desired.
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Solarwinds etc.
- Working knowledge of Delinea Centrify desired.
- Use and knowledge of Systems and rc.d for system starts and shutdowns.
