About the role
- This is an opportunity to expand the practice according to personal interest.
- Position Details Part time- 0.5 FTE Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, evidence-based general surgical care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and adherence to evidence-based guidelines; participate in morbidity and mortality (M&M) conferences as applicable.
Responsibilities
- Optimize patient flow, OR/ASC scheduling, and coordination with preoperative clinics, anesthesia teams, and nursing staff to ensure efficient, safe throughput and timely discharge.
- Manage postoperative care, including pain management, wound care, discharge planning, and structured follow-up in a timely, patient-centered manner.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, anesthesia, and OR staff to coordinate care across the continuum within the Stanford network.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the EMR (Epic).
- Collaborate closely with Stanford University School of Medicine Faculty physicians.
- Staff support - favorable RN clinical support ratio
Requirements
- DEA registration and ability to obtain state prescriptive authority as required.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality, patient-centered surgical care
- proficiency in EMR documentation
Compensation
- Provisional: Guaranteed salary up to $260,000 annually for the first 2 years, based on experience for full time position
- Productivity-based incentive bonus
