About the role
- Responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under their direction and control.
- Incumbent is called upon to handle a significant amount of details, each varying from the other in substance and content, requiring incumbent to approach workload with flexibility.
- Enforces all pool and facility rules; follows all safety-related procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the public, including children and young adults, in a courteous and tactful manner and to fairly and tactfully enforce facility rules and regulations.
Nice to have
- Water Safety Instructor Age 16 years or older (work permit needed if under 18)
Skills
- Working knowledge of multi-pool aquatic facility, procedures and equipment.
- Ability to swim.
- Regular attendance at the workplace is required.
- Moderate physical effort is generally required which involves frequent lifting of between 30 and 60 pounds.
- Additional physical effort is required of Lifeguards in emergency situations; see attached for specific skills involved.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects or equipment.
- May be required to work with caustic chemicals.
- Noise is moderate to loud at times.
- Vision and hearing at or correctable to normal ranges.
