About the role

  • Responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under their direction and control.
  • Incumbent is called upon to handle a significant amount of details, each varying from the other in substance and content, requiring incumbent to approach workload with flexibility.
  • Enforces all pool and facility rules; follows all safety-related procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the public, including children and young adults, in a courteous and tactful manner and to fairly and tactfully enforce facility rules and regulations.

Nice to have

  • Water Safety Instructor Age 16 years or older (work permit needed if under 18)

Skills

  • Working knowledge of multi-pool aquatic facility, procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to swim.
  • Regular attendance at the workplace is required.
  • Moderate physical effort is generally required which involves frequent lifting of between 30 and 60 pounds.
  • Additional physical effort is required of Lifeguards in emergency situations; see attached for specific skills involved.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects or equipment.
  • May be required to work with caustic chemicals.
  • Noise is moderate to loud at times.
  • Vision and hearing at or correctable to normal ranges.
