About the role

  • The Senior Electrical Engineer serves as the primary technical authority for electrical systems across Riot Data Centers' hyperscale portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Authority & Standards Establish, maintain, and evolve electrical design standards, specifications, and approval criteria across the portfolio, Serve as the primary technical reviewer and approver for electrical deliverables across all phase gates (DD, 30/60/90/IFC).
  • Own the electrical Basis of Design (BoD) and ensure alignment across all active projects.
  • Design Review & Risk Management Review and approve consultant-produced packages ensuring compliance with internal standards and applicable codes (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, local codes).
  • Oversee and validate arc flash, short circuit, and coordination study approaches and outputs.
  • Identify technical risks related to availability, redundancy strategy, protection coordination, and constructability; drive mitigation plans.
  • Ensure cross-discipline integration (mechanical, controls, structural) is addressed through design review.
  • Consultant & Vendor Oversight Support selection and performance management of electrical consultants, EORs, and key vendors.
  • Lead technical alignment workshops to ensure external partners meet Riot's requirements.
  • Review submittals and shop drawings; support resolution of design conflicts through construction.
  • Commissioning & Continuous Improvement Provide commissioning acceptance criteria inputs and review support for electrical systems.

  • Provide executive-ready summaries of key technical decisions, risks, and tradeoffs when required.

  • $180k-$200k
