- The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, has an exciting full time opportunity for a Research Associate 2, in the Department of Ophthalmology - Research in Miami, Florida.
- The Research Associate 2, SOM contributes to the University's research activities under the supervision of senior staff.
Responsibilities
- Performs specialized and complex experiments/studies.
- Writes extramural grants/proposals to gain support when appropriate.
- Performs calculations to complete research test results.
- Performs photography and dark room processing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Skills
- Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
- Contributes to basic and applied research activities by collecting and analyzing data, maintaining databases, etc...
- Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.
- Participates in the publication of significant results.
- Advances expertise through continued education, training and/or research.
- Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.
- Attends training as departmental funds come available.
- Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice and guidance.
