About the role

  • Altus Group has an immediate opening for a Cost Analyst, Mechanical within our Cost Consulting & Project Management division in our downtown Calgary office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of cost estimates at various stages of the design process, from conceptual design to pre-tender stage for new and existing clients
  • Inspect and assess mechanical elements throughout various building and infrastructure projects, along with full trade and elemental take-off's
  • Collaborate with various internal/external partners to obtain the necessary information to prepare reports
  • Managing client relationships in a manner that leads to contract renewal, referrals and service expansion including up-sells and cross-sells

Requirements

  • 1-2+ years of related experience in mechanical cost consulting/estimating
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Technologist or trade related experience would be an asset
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, and on-screen take-off

  • An understanding of Mechanical and Plumbing systems and how they work in various types of buildings
  • Excellent communication skills - interpersonal, written & presentation. Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics
  • Understanding of the construction industry - development, contracting & consultant services
  • Utilization of CIQS standard method of measurement - elemental/trade, Uniformat, working towards PQS and / or MRICS designation is an asset

Compensation

  • $50,000- $70,000
