About the role

Altus Group has an immediate opening for a Cost Analyst, Mechanical within our Cost Consulting & Project Management division in our downtown Calgary office.

Provide a full range of cost estimates at various stages of the design process, from conceptual design to pre-tender stage for new and existing clients
Inspect and assess mechanical elements throughout various building and infrastructure projects, along with full trade and elemental take-off's
Collaborate with various internal/external partners to obtain the necessary information to prepare reports
Managing client relationships in a manner that leads to contract renewal, referrals and service expansion including up-sells and cross-sells

1-2+ years of related experience in mechanical cost consulting/estimating
Post-secondary degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Technologist or trade related experience would be an asset
Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics
Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, and on-screen take-off

An understanding of Mechanical and Plumbing systems and how they work in various types of buildings
Excellent communication skills - interpersonal, written & presentation. Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics
Understanding of the construction industry - development, contracting & consultant services
Utilization of CIQS standard method of measurement - elemental/trade, Uniformat, working towards PQS and / or MRICS designation is an asset

$50,000- $70,000
