Responsibilities

  • Under general direction, with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, perform difficult and complex administrative work for the Manhattan Borough Commissioner.
  • Manage the Manhattan Borough Commissioner's calendar strategically to maintain an efficient and effective schedule, exercise sound judgment in prioritizing competing demands, independently handling frequent reprioritization and coordinating meetings and appointments accordingly.
  • Utilize data provided by the Manhattan Borough Commissioner and Borough Commissioner's staff to create and maintain spreadsheets and charts.
  • Direct and maintain information flow to the Manhattan Borough Commissioner for timely response.
  • On behalf of the Manhattan Borough Commissioner, communicate directly with all divisions, other city agencies and key agency partners.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above
  • However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
