About the role

The Heavy-Duty Mechanic (HDM) is responsible for performing inspections, major and minor repairs, overhauls and servicing on all types of Maintenance of way equipment (Heavy duty equipment).

Inspect, service and maintain Maintenance of way equipment, in accordance with federal and company regulations, including repairing, replacing, cleaning and adjusting parts.

You'll be working on all types of equipment and structures designed to support the distribution of freight across North America.
Major Responsibilities Heavy Duty Mechanics (HDM) perform major and minor repairs, overhauls and servicing on all types of Maintenance of way equipment.

Diagnose diesel engine malfunctions and make required repairs.
Ability to work irregular shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Ability to work full time from a service truck.
Basic technical knowledge of diesel mechanics.

Requirements High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) Red Seal in either Heavy Duty Mechanic, Commercial Transport Mechanic, or Automotive Mechanic.
Medical assessment (including drug, hearing, and vision).

Regular travel up to 90%, Company provided accommodations.
Operate a service truck (F550 or similar) in accordance with federal and company policies.
