About the role

  • This position will remain open until filled, applications will be reviewed every two weeks.
  • The County Surveyor's Office in the Department of Land Use and Transportation is recruiting for a Survey Technician III in the Development Review Section of the Surveyor's Office.
  • The primary duties may include performing in office review s of surveys and plats for compliance with applicable statutes and codes for filing in the County Surveyor's Office.

Responsibilities

  • The purpose of this project is to create new job descriptions and create new classification and compensation systems.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with individuals and groups who come from diverse backgrounds and represent members of the public, coworkers, and/or vendors.
  • Four (4) years of responsible experience in boundary, cadastral or construction surveying, which includes functional lead or training personnel experience.

  • Associate's Degree in surveying, mathematics, geographic information systems, construction management, engineering, forestry, or related field
  • AND two (2) years of responsible experience in boundary, cadastral or construction surveying.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in surveying, mathematics, geographic information systems, construction management, engineering, forestry, or related field; AND two (2) years of responsible experience in boundary, cadastral or construction surveying. OR
  • Must possess a driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and have an acceptable driving record

Skills

  • Surveying principles and methods.
  • Statutes relating to surveying, right-of-way, and platting.
  • Computer software relating to surveying and engineering.
  • Use current manual and electronic survey instruments.
  • Use computer assisted drafting software.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Compensation

  • $41.08 - $50.46 Hourly
