About the role
- The Area Chief Engineer oversees maintenance operations for multiple hotels, including systems such as refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and energy controls.
- This role ensures all maintenance activities are performed to the highest standards, supporting the General Managers and ensuring a well-maintained property that meets guest expectations.
- Provide professional and courteous guest service at all times.
Responsibilities
- Hire, supervise, and develop maintenance staff, ensuring timely project completion across.
- Train staff in emergency procedures and maintain safety compliance.
- Manage maintenance agreements and contracts, including landscaping and snow removal.
- Develop and maintain maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
- Perform inventory management, purchasing duties, and develop departmental budgets.
Requirements
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, including on-call for emergencies.

Skills
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance, with a focus on managing multiple.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and energy controls.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Experience working with contractors, vendors, and managing maintenance agreements.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for working with staff, management, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in budgeting, inventory management, and purchasing.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations and make decisions that impact guest safety and operational costs.
Compensation
- $125,000 -$150,000
