About the role

  • The Field Service Technician is responsible for integrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex automated systems at greenhouse and nursery sites throughout the United States and Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Support commissioning and startup of new automation systems
  • Collaborate with engineering teams during implementation
  • Perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance
  • Service mechanical systems including pneumatic actuators, motors, gearboxes, and chain drives
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Customer Support and Training
  • Install and integrate complex automated systems in greenhouses and nurseries • Work with conveyors, hoppers, potting machines, transplanters, and camera grading systems • Support commissioning and startup of new automation systems • Collaborate with engineering teams during implementation
  • Diagnose hardware and programming issues • Perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance • Troubleshoot electrical systems including VFDs, PLCs, photo-eyes, and encoders • Service mechanical systems including pneumatic actuators, motors, gearboxes, and chain drives • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Accurately document repairs, upgrades, and service activities • Support identification of system improvements • Assist engineering with feedback for product development • Maintain professional representation of AdeptAg at customer sites

Requirements

  • Occasional weekend travel or work required based on project needs
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to obtain a passport (if not already held, within 90 days of hire)
  • This field-based position requires strong electro-mechanical expertise, previous experience with greenhouse or agricultural equipment, and the ability to work independently at customer sites.
