Responsibilities

  • City Forester or Lead Arborist depending on work assignment
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to perform rope and saddle work (climb) in trimming operations.
  • Manages and updates city tree inventory.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain Colorado Department of Agriculture Certified Operator license, within six months of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain International Society of Arborist (ISA) Certification within one year of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain International Society of Arborist (ISA) Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) within one year of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain Colorado Class A Commercial Driver's License within six months of appointment.
  • Assists as required in various planting projects.
  • Performs some weekend and/or afterhours work, including emergency tree related response is required.

Nice to have

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree, two-year technical certificate or bachelor's degree in forestry, arboriculture horticulture, natural resources, irrigation, general trades or closely related field preferred.
