Responsibilities
- Assess and validate requirements (routing, fiber counts, hut spacing, etc.) for new route planning to ensure route objectives are clearly defined and meet stakeholder requirements.
- Collaborates with internal project managers to refine project schedules and budgets. Actively manage schedule, vendor process and documentation requirements and budget throughout project execution.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and develop contingency plans.
- Develop RFPs for the splicing & testing of routes. Manage the RFP process and negotiate with bidders to ensure the lowest qualified awards are made. Diligently manage the contract terms throughout the life of each contract.
- Deliver splicing documents to the support teams in a timely manner to ensure route is properly documented.
Requirements
- Must have five (5) years familiarity with all types of outside plant construction and experience managing large capital projects.
- Familiarity with all types of outside plant construction methods and best practices.
- Experience managing large capital projects.
- Must be able to manage multiple RFP and design construction schedules and responses.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Must be able to understand and read construction and splicing documents.
- The employee will be required to meet with various municipalities and vendors to review project scope and to ensure positive communication is maintained.
- The employee must possess a valid driver's license with no major infractions in the past 5 years.
- Employee is expected to drive as required to his/her assigned projects in order to ensure on time and on budget delivery.
- Employee must be approved to work in the United States.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, preferably in Engineering or other related technical field, or equivalent work experience. Business degree/acumen a plus.
- Minimum of five (5) years in the telecommunications industry with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management experience.
- Fiber optic cable splicing and testing knowledge
- Familiar with all facets of OSP management, including quoting, construction and delivery.
- Working knowledge of construction standard, fiber specifications and optical network design principles.
- Demonstrated exceptional problem solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical topics clearly and effectively with both internal and external customers.
- Familiar with Email, MS Excel, Word, Google Earth and AutoCAD.
- Must be able to manage multiple RFP and design construction schedules and responses. Proven negotiation skills.
- Business minded and able to maintain a commercial focus.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, preferably in Engineering or other related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
- Business degree/acumen a plus.
Compensation
- $68,100 - $104,700 USD/annually.
- The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role.
- It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions.
- Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
- Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan.
- Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
