About the role

  • The Electrician Journeyman is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout the granule manufacturing plant.
  • This role will report to the Electrical Supervisor.
  • Diagnose and correct electrical failures using testing and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment, machinery, and control systems.
  • Maintain and repair motors, motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLCs, sensors, and instrumentation.
  • Support plant production by responding to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with operators, production personnel, and maintenance team members to resolve equipment issues.
  • Perform prevent at ive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in implementing electrical safety.
  • Experience with electrical lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, motors, controls, PLCs, and industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical safety codes
  • Knowledge of various instrumentation sensors and transmitters
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a team setting with other tradesman
  • Rotating shift, holidays, and overtime may be required.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, motors, controls, PLCs, and industrial automation. Knowledge of Allen Bradley AC Drives, ControlLogix PLC, Relay Logic skills is an asset
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, diagnosing and testing PLC automated circuit, motors and motor control circuits
  • A bility to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Ability to lead, guide, and mentor junior electricians

Nice to have

  • Minimum 3-5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing, processing, or industrial plant operations preferred.
  • Must be able to learn computer-based maintenance software (Maximo knowledge is a plus)

Compensation

  • Competitive Pay – Compensation $44.00 per hour
