About the role
- The Production Planner serves as the central coordination point between Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Materials Planning, Project Management, Engineering, and Operations Leadership.
- This individual is responsible for balancing production demand against available labor, equipment, floor space, and material constraints while ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed production schedules across fabrication, welding, paint, assembly, electrical integration, and final system build operations.
- Create daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules that align with operational capacity and customer delivery requirements.
- Manage schedule priorities across multiple products, projects, and manufacturing work centers.
- Partner with Manufacturing Managers, Value Stream Managers, and Supervisors to develop labor plans that support production requirements.
- Support long-range workforce planning and capacity forecasting initiatives.
- Ensure production schedules align with material availability and Clear-to-Build status.
- Collaborate with Materials Planning and Procurement teams to identify and mitigate potential shortages.
- Support manufacturing leadership in prioritizing production activities and resolving capacity conflicts.
- Drive schedule optimization initiatives to improve throughput, efficiency, and resource utilization.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of Production Planning, Manufacturing Planning, Scheduling, Operations Planning, or Supply Chain Planning experience.
- Experience in contract manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, modular construction, data center infrastructure, or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of:
- Experience managing production schedules across multiple work centers and manufacturing disciplines.
- Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency.
- Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting fabrication, welding, electrical integration, paint, and industrial assembly operations.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and production flow optimization.
